Northern Wilderness by unicornslave Northern Wilderness by unicornslave
Northern Wilderness quilt - made as a remembrance of the cruise my husband and I took to Alaska last year. This quilt is still a wip, needing quilting. All done as raw edge applique over pieced blocks. Changed the image - borders on finally, better pic, better colors, less blurry.

I've a number of irons in the fire (when don't I?)
I have a second awen symbol to embroider on another tabard, the illuminated book, and preparing wax sculptures of fanciful beasties like unicorns, dragons, and tulaq for lost wax casting.

You know me. Busy busy busy.

I'm in #The_Highway on Sorcery.net if you want to stop in some time and catch up.

nice design:D Are all the animals quilted or one piece of fabric

The animals are appliqued with multiple pieces of fabric forming the animal shapes in most cases. I wish I could say I designed the quilt, but it was designed by 3 women from Alaska. I bought the pattern and made the quilt from that. Glad you like it :)

It wasn't the easiest quilt I ever worked on ;) but you'd be surprised... with a great pattern (which this was), it wasn't that hard either - just took slow and steady progress to get 'er done. I'm so glad you like it!!!
