Lukichan's Quilt

A standard sashed squares design, made for my son Luke's 19th birthday. I chose the colors because they were ones -I- loved... and of course there is one of the sashing fabrics that has cats in it. the details of the cobweb quilting and the stars in the borders doesnt show here.. I'll have to take some close ups when I get a better camera. The diagonal placement of the darker squares was to give it a sense of movement, since I'd planned initially to randomize placement of cobwebs stitched with metallic threads and the sashing placements were random, I wanted the quilt to have SOME sense of order. The metallic threads (tried like 5 different types) were all a no-go in my 1925 Singer AND my newer machine as well, that part didnt work out. But I still like the overall look of the diagonal placement of the darker hat squares.
