Confessions of a Serial Quilter

Thu Nov 5, 2009, 2:59 PM

.: Purple Lights

I'm kinda blogging elsewhere lately (you can visit my blog at [link] ). In fact, if you follow me here, please check out my blog... it would be nice to have a comment or two now and then. Love to see you there...

Anyway - I'm busy re-doing my whole house, interior only. New floors throughout... working on paint, and finally mostly clean. My studio is in total chaos so it's hard to work, but getting easier day by day as I organize and put things away.

Getting ready for a retreat in one week... SO looking forward to a week on the beach doing nothing but sewing and socializing. The rest of this week and beginning of next is for pre-retreat prep.

And then the chaos of pre-thanksgiving begins with about 15 people coming for dinner... so much for my nice clean house.

Trying a new skin too.... what do you think?

it's nikki- i want to apologize for being so so so inactive. i've been without a computer for about a year now! I'm sort of back now, but it seems like the club is incredibly inactive, i haven't gotten a single submission the entire time i've been gone.

I was just looking at your Rivers of Belief quilt. It is absolutely stunning! Very gorgeous work!

If possible, would you mind sharing the pattern? I would love to make a similar one to hang on my wall.

Thanks! Check out Lone Star Quilts and Beyond by Jan Krentz - the spiral lone star in that quilt is based on her design.

The cruise was great - we're home now and still both weaving around like drunken sailors... the last 2 days were high seas and strong winds.... the ship was pitching and rolling. Now that we're on dry land, we still haven't gotten our land legs back. Other than that, it's great to be home and back with our kittehs and kid. See you soon!

Cool. I've never been on a cruise before. Did Luke say yours was to Mexico?
Hope you're not feeling flu-ish.

Yes, our cruise was to Mexico... and I did get the flu - but 2 weeks after we got back - incubation period on swine flu is 2 days, so it was just normal old flu. I'm over it now, and Joe and I are off to Utah on Sunday for Luke's great grandmother's funeral. A not-so-fun trip, but the drive should be nice.

How's school going... Luke mentioned things are going well with your new roommate. That's a refreshing change, I'm sure.
